Submission in marriage

We must submit our selves as husbands and wives. The world of God says wives submit to your husband as to the Lord. For a husband has authority over his wife just as Christ has authority over the church; and Christ is himself the Saviour of the Church (Eph. 5:22-25). And so wives must submit completely to their husbands just as the church submits itself to Christ.

Submission is an act of accepting another power or authority. It could sometimes be called obedience or humility. Submission is expected to be mutual between husband and wife.

God commands the wife to obey her husband, and even in unpleasant circumstance. He rewards obedience with a usefulness and happiness for beyond her deepest expectations. However, husbands too should remember that God expects both partners to submit to each other.

Coordinate your family for daily devotions and prayers.
Domestic Affairs: Help each other especially if the other partner is weak.
Money and Finance: Be ready to support each other at all times no matter how little your contribution might be, it will help the marriage.

1Tim 6:10 says (For the love of money is a source of all kinds of evil. Some have been so eager to have it that they have wandered away from the faith and have broken their hearts with many sorrows.

Whatever the husband earned belong to the wife, likewise what the wife has belonged to the husband. This is because both of you are one flesh. Whatever God has joined together money should not separate. In marriage there should be total submission to one another and this should include all our possessions as a couple. The wife should encourage and support the husband in times of pressure and financial hardship. Wives you must encourage your husband, because his success is a measure of your success. “Behind every successful man, there is a woman”.
